When you're mapping a process you'll see your toolbox in the top left hand corner of your workspace. This toolbox is the easiest way to add in objects, make amendments and select different parts of your process.

The hand tool

This tool allows you to take hold of the canvas and move it around! If you want to move a single element, click and drag it and the icon will become a closed fist.

The lasso tool

This tool allows you to select multiple objects within your process. This is the quickest way to convert multiple tasks to user tasks. Simply drag the lasso around the tasks you want to convert and the option to convert to user task or delete will appear in the top right of your workspace.

NB: You can also use the lasso tool to move a selection of elements on the canvas

The create space tool

This tool does what it says on this tin, allows you to create space! With this selected, choose a point in your process where you want to create some space and click it. Everything after that point will be selected and you can move it out to make more space.

The global connect tool

With this selected, you can create new connections between objects within your process.

Create start event tool

This tool allows you to create a new start event in your process.

Create end event tool

This tool allows you to create a new end event in your process.

Create gateway tool

This tool allows you to create a gateway within your process. You can find out more about adding gateways in this guide.

Create task tool
